The Centre Revolver bits are a Revolutionary design by Jeffries. New to the Market 2006.
My belief of this bit is that it is one of the best designs so far, the lozenge is one of my favorite mouthpieces and now it comes with independent side action. This is going to provide riders with something they have not seen or used before, they will sit lovely in the horses mouth and are suitable for most breeds, if you have never tried a lozenge mouthpiece before, are currently using a French link or you have a lozenged mouthpiece, I suggest you give one of these a go. This is going to be a big seller!!!!
Loop Ring
The Loop ring is similar to the loose ring apart from this bit has 2 extra fixed holes for the cheek piece of the bridle to go through and the other for the rein to attach through, this can be used in a few ways so that the rein can just attach to the normal snaffle ring. If the cheek piece is attached to the top fixed point, then this will increase the lip and poll pressure slightly, if the rein is attached to the fixed rein port then this increases the lip and poll pressure all the more. However the bit is considered to be a mild and is used especially on ponies when the rider needs a little extra help, it Is a very popular show bit.
Stainless Steel Revolver Lozenge
The Lozenged Mouthpiece bits have proven the of the most popular of bits. The mouthpiece is the New French Link, it has a oval shaped link in the centre. The lozenge shaped link contours the tongue and forms a true contact. It has no protruding pressure points like the French link does (where the flat link joins the mouthpiece); it has 2 joints, which means the pressure of the bit is distributed over both the tongue and bars of the mouth. Because the mouthpiece has two joints, it shouldnt cause any interference with the roof of the mouth. The Lozenge uses tongue pressure to encourage the horse to go on the bit and lower the head, it has bar and lip pressure but not a squeezing action like that of a bit with a single joint. The more joints a bit has the less likely the horse is to lean as the bit becomes more mobile.
Because of the split centre Lozenge which revolves, this gives a independent rein action, allowing one half of the bit to be used whilst the other half stays put, not causing the whole bit to lift in the mouth. A superb design by Jeffries.....
